First Air Conditioner After 44 Years in Home

"Since building our Lancaster home in 1967, we never felt a need for air conditioning. We were living in the woods with lots of surrounding trees. Except for an occasional uncomfortable night, we kept quite comfortable with window fans. That is until this past summer. It was especially hot, hotter still because we had lost several trees and no longer had the shade. We decided rather quickly that we had better do something about it.

"We knew right away with whom we would talk. R. H. Ranck had been doing our plumbing work for over 40 years. One day when we were driving buy, we stopped in and met Randy Miller for the first time. He came out to the house and decided what he thought would be best for us.*

"The installation was done within two weeks. The guys were very thoughtful, very nice people to deal with. We were thoroughly pleased. Our new air conditioning system is a joy. We're thrilled -- glad we did it. the system is wonderful, very convenient."

"Because they have had hot water oil heat, the Peeks had no ductwork. I knew they would not like a normal central system because that system would make them cold. It's hard to go from no A/C to central. What they needed was dehumidification and some cooling. I therefore chose two min-split heat pumps, each with two indoor in-wall units. These are perfect because they have a dehumidification mode, and they have variable cooling output. They also bring the ability to only heat and cool the area you are in. This makes conditioning just one bedroom at night the only expense they will have for half the day."

Currently we are waiting for the 'robot' to be back in service to check out our air duct as we are having put in the zoning system.
